ABOUT THE PROJECT

2_DESIGN

Look through the different sections of the design process.

The emphasis of this project was honing the art of craft as well as developing something that would survive in the limitations of food packaging. I chose specifically chocolates as it is a popular snack item and desired to create something that could still stand out amongst all the colorful packaging.

FINAL PROTOTYPE

1.RESEARCH :TARGET AUDIENCE

The actual creation process of the box making included finding the correct materials, the craft of spray glue and exacta knives. There was also the pressure of creating something that would allow you to read or understand the packing regardless of the angle it would be held at.

It was important understanding who I was trying to address. Empathy became an incrediblity important skill in getting into the minds of the audience and what they would see, what they would want to see and and how they would see it.

THE CORE OF THE BRAND

A key factor to any product as a designer it becomes very important to think about the intentions with which something is to be created with. As a designer, am I just creating meatless trash that will end up in landfill? If not, what exactly am I doing?

  1. DESIGN

The actual fun aspect of this included the making. As a someone who has always felt the need to fidget and move my hands whether with a mouse or with a pencil, this aspect took much trial and error before landing somewhere satisfactory.

WHERE TO SELL, TRENDS, and COMPETITIVE COMPANIES

Understanding the difference that make these the Taiwanese culture is a way for me to pay homage to my background. However, being the middle ground of a 1.5 generation immigrant, I had to do research culturally what would be relevant from somewhere I don't spend all my time in.
